OFFICIAL VISITS
The visit to Batavia of the then American Governor General in the Philippine Islands, Leonard Wood, in 1923, and the corresponding return visit to Manila of the then Dutch Governor General in the East Indies, D. Fock, may be considered as the first exchange of official visits between the two countries.
In November 1962, the then Crown Princess Beatrix visited Manila. Since then, there have been several exchanges of visits in the ministerial level.
In 1995, President Fidel V. Ramos paid an official visit to the Netherlands. This was returned by Prime Minister Wim Kok in 1996.
